Body counts and purity test scores are some of the personal data points teens are publicly sharing as part of the Pre Summer Stats trend gaining traction on TikTok. And while it’s a fascinating insight into what teens obsess about, it’s demonstrative of how deep comparison culture goes, and how judgement is inescapable. As the saying goes… we measure what matters.

The trend sees young people - primarily teen girls - overlaying their stats on selfie videos with Sam Feldt’s track Post Malone or Icona Pop’s I Love It as the soundtrack.
The posts are predominantly on TikTok but also appearing on Twitter and Instagram. And while kiss counts, crushes, height and weight will be familiar obsessions for anyone who remembers the hormone rollercoaster of their teenage years, there’s a dizzying amount of other measurables that teens are tracking as temperatures rise.
