Becca Bloom's filthy rich wedding - a preview
The jewellery budget is at least $645k
Forget Bezos and Sánchez’s Venice takeover. The wedding of 2025 is happening this Thursday and it’s between one of TikTok’s newest stars, the “relatable billionaire” Becca Bloom and her Amazon executive fiancé David Pownall.
Bloom, 27, has more than four million TikTok followers who are hooked on her almost-daily videos which offer a mix of wealth-flashing, advice, performative silliness and WTF engagement bait that’s included feeding her dog wagyu steak, adding caviar to meals for “seasoning” and carrying a Van Cleef & Arpels compass ‘in case she gets lost’.
It’s a phenomenal achievement given that Bloom, real name Rebecca Ma, only started posting in January. But then again, being the daughter of uber-affluent parents she’s in the privileged position of being able to whip up interest by pulling back the curtain on how San Francisco’s one percenters live.
Rather than rile critics of conspicuous consumption though, Bloom’s serene energy, humour and relatability have gained her a legion of fans. I first wrote about her back in April, and pointed to comments like “when I say eat the rich, I don’t mean her” and “she’s just like us but in a fancy font”, to explain her unlikely appeal.
A common theme throughout Bloom’s posts, which this month have averaged 5.8 million, is prep for her lavish Lake Como wedding. Bloom, who works in financial tech, has spilled on the dresses that didn’t make the cut, took her followers wedding shoe shopping in Paris, shared the bougie wedding invites, talked through her mood board and unboxed gifts from under her “wedding tree”. She’s even shown the world her custom-ordered wedding necklace and earrings that together cost about the same as a London flat.
It’s all been one massive tease for this week’s wedding which looks set to be Bloom’s biggest content opportunity to date, and a major moment on TikTok. So what can we expect? I’ve watched every single video Bloom has posted to get you the details…
The Italian venue
Bloom and Pownall will say “I do” at Villa Balbiano, a 16th century palazzo on Lake Como’s western shore. Bloom revealed the location at the end of January on TikTok, telling viewers that for three days and two nights the venue charged between $100-150k, adding, “that includes absolutely nothing”.
Bills for food, drinks, planning, design, photography, flowers, transport, entertainment, outfits, hair and make-up means it’s likely that the whole shebang will cost well north of $5m/£3.7m.
The designer dress
Bloom has not revealed her dress but she’s dropped some big hints. First off, in June she shared a video from Paris titled “GRWM (get ready with me) to try on my wedding dress for the first time” so it seems safe to assume it’s being designed by a French fashion house.
She also shared a video of the dresses she tried but didn’t pick, including this Elie Saab gown she dubbed a “final contender”…
Bloom also tried out Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier, Nicole and Felicia and Giambattista Valli creations. The common theme was their voluminous trains.
The gems
Bloom, who describes herself as a “jewellery fanatic”, has been much more open about the ice that she’ll wear on her big day, revealing that a necklace and matching drop earrings from Van Cleef & Arpel’s Folie des Prés collection will finish her look.
In a TikTok, where she claimed to try the necklace on for the first time, Bloom said she custom ordered the $478k/£354k all-diamond version of the design. A month later she revealed the matching all-diamond earrings which cost $166k/£123k.
It’s unclear whether she’ll wear the $81/£60k ring from the same collection on her wedding day, but naturally she has that too.
Even if Bloom’s gems are limited to the necklace and earrings then that’s at least $645k/£476k. I hope she has security.
Of course Bloom will also be wearing her engagement ring which Pownall gave her when he proposed on a boat off the Positano coast in 2023. As you might have guessed, the rock is visible from space…
The fancy flowers
Royal florist Larry Walshe will dress the venue and it’ll likely look similar to this…
It’s not known how much he’s charging Bloom for her blooms but one wedding planning website estimated he charges $30k/£22k. His quote certainly shocked the bride…
The guest list
Bloom rarely shows friends and family in her TikToks so it’s unclear who’ll make the cut. What’s likely though is that Bloom will amp up interest in her wedding by filling a few seats with her recently acquired influencer pals.
In April she revealed her friendship with fellow Bay Area content creator Emily Mariko.
She found fame in 2021 when her leftover salmon and rice recipe went viral and now has over 12 million TikTok followers. Bloom has also created content with Haley Kalil, who posts as Haylee Baylee (15 million TikTok followers), and featured the actress Heart Evangelista (16 million Instagram followers) in a video she posted from a fashion show in Paris.
For those lucky enough to get on the guest list, the invite came in a white velvet box with gold foil details…
The pre-wedding gifts
I’m so poor I had no idea that presents were given before the nuptials take place, but if you're rich rich like Bloom then you’re so inundated with them you keep them under a “wedding tree”…
So far Bloom has received a Van Cleef & Arpel Alhambra necklace from her mom, a metalic Chanel bag from her sales associate at Neiman Marcus and a “croc” Hermes Kelly bag from an unknown gift giver.
If anyone has access to their actual gift registry please share the link ASAP!
What’s next?
After what I imagine will be a luxurious honeymoon, Bloom and her Canadian husband plan to move to the San Francisco suburbs. She’s already shared with her fans the houses mansions that they “almost bought but didn’t”.
The video has been viewed more than 18 million times.
But before the home tour happens I’ll be glued to my TikTok feed to see how Bloom’s big day goes. I’ll keep you posted. If you’re not already a subscriber, hit the pink button so you don't miss the update…

Writing Lake Como, Italia on the invites makes me want to die.
The most impressive thing about Becca was her ability to find love in SF at 27!
