I mentioned in my last post that I was obsessed with The White Lotus’ Aimee Lou Wood’s “rare and characterful teeth”. I took this thought - and a threat to write more about it - to Threads and after more than seven thousand co-signs I’m about to give you a whole piece on beautiful buck teeth.
Wood’s mesmerising overbite is not the story though. The proliferation of veneers, Invisalign uniformity and the normalisation of the “perfect smile” is the real issue. We’ve all become so accustomed to seeing straight, tightly squeezed, paper-white gnashers that Wood’s prominent pair seem exotic, retro, or as one commenter bluntly put it, “British”.
